Selected candidates, that is to say those achieving a sufficiently high rank to be admitted to the CLUSTER PhD program in relation to the available positions, must proceed for enrolment within 10 days from the publication of the rankings, or they may lose their right to admission.

The deadline for registration is mandatory.

Enrolment with scholarship

Candidates recipients of a position covered by a CLUSTER scholarship shall submit the following documents to the Doctoral School:

  • application form, duly filled and signed;
  • duly signed summary page of the data included in the application form, available on Apply@polito.it (on your personal page, by logging-in);
  • the certificate of proficiency in English declared during the selection process;
  • copy of valid ID, duly signed;
  • copy of the Italian fiscal code (Social Security Number);
  • Registration at the Italian National Institute for Social Security (INPS) to obtain the separately managed social security coverage

    The registration to the separately managed social security coverage can be made on line on the INPS (Italian National Institute for Social Security) website (www.inps.it).
    In order to log-in students need a special PIN code/ codice PIN given directly from the INPS and an Italian fiscal code.

    Those who do not manage to register for the separately managed social security coverage within the deadline for enrollment, can do it afterwards and give the Doctoral School the proof of their registration.

    INPS toll-free number is 803.164.

  • an Italian bank account to receive the scholarship (IBAN code, bank name, branch office, full address);
  • Self-certification attesting that the student does not have / has not had any work-related relationship with the organisations involved in the project;
  • self certification attesting that the student does not have any kind of work-related activity underway;
  • receipt proving the payment of tuition fees of Euro 160,84.

    Payment can take place:
    • at the Doctoral School or at the Central Student Office by P.O.S. device;
    • at the post office on post current account No 259101 in the name of Politecnico di Torino – Gestione Tasse Scolastiche – Servizio tesoreria C.so Duca degli Abruzzi, 24 - 10129 Torino.

Those who have obtained II Level (Master's of Science) graduation abroad will also have to submit:

  • Certificate of Master of Science with final score;
  • Transcript of the examinations taken with related score obtained during the Bachelor's and Master's Degree.

  • Whether written in a language other than Italian, English, French, Portuguese, Spanish or German, these documents must be translated into one of these languages and certified as authenticated copies either by the University that issued them or by an Italian delegation in charge.


      10 days after the publication of ranking, a list containing the positions that have become available due to rightholders' waive of their right to admission will be published, together with the names of suitable candidates who can succeed. Candidates who do not enrol, within the period indicated at the bottom of the same list, will lose their own right to admission.

      Enrollment to subsequent years

      At the end of each academic year, each doctorate student must submit a detailed report about training and research activities carried out to the Academic Board. On the basis of the evaluation of the credits acquired, the Academic Board decides on the admission of the student to the following year, or to the final examination.

      In the event of a negative evaluation, the student will lose his/her stauts as PhD Student and will have to return the whole scholarship amount received up to that moment.

      Enrollment to each subsequent year involves the payment of the registration fee within the deadlines specified in Fee Regulation 2013/2014.
