NAtIONAL Programmes
Starting from the 37th cycle (a.y. 21/22), Politecnico di Torino is actively involved in the implementation of two national PhD programmes activated by the MUR, in which the main Italian universities and research institutions are involved:
  • the National PhD programme in Sustainable Development and Climate Change, established by the Scuola Universitaria Speriore IUSS di Pavia, in agreement with 30 Italian Athenaeum. Its purpose is to prepare the future generations to reshape a resilient society, able to best manage the issue of climate change and rethink the processes of sustainable development, no longer measured in terms of simple economic development exclusively. The main topic of the PhD programme is the study of the complexity arising from the interrelationships among technological progress, availability of natural resources, migrations, rights, wellness and quality of life of the present and future generation, climate change, territorial specificities, accessibility to water and food.
  • the National PhD Programme in Artificial Intelligence, which represents the first national initiative about this topic. The programme was launched in July 2020 from the collaboration among CNR, Università di Pisa, Università di Roma Sapienza, Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, Università di Napoli “Federico II” and Politecnico di Torino.
