Evaluation of candidates
Further to the expiry of the deadline for application submission, a dedicated jointly University Board, named by the Rectors, will verify the applicants' fulfillment of the admission requirements and publish a list of candidates admitted to the second step of the selection process.
   
Candidates will be assessed on the basis of their motivations, preparation, competences and expertise and their research skills, inferable from the documents attached to the application and from the interview.

The assessment of the candidates will be made by a Selection Board, one for each PhD programme.     

The Board can allocate to each candidate at maximum 100 points in total, divided as follow:
  • titles: maximum 40 points (the details are explained in the following table);
  • candidate's statement of research interests and motivations to undertake the PhD career, and any recommendation by the referees named in the application form: maximum 20 points;
  • interview: maximum 40 points.

Only those candidate who will totalise at least 40 points in the evaluation of titles, motivational and interest statement, recommendation letters shall be admitted to the interview.
