The School offers the possibility to obtain a double PhD degree (co-tutelle thesis). Therefore, international students are able to experience a period of research at Politecnico di Torino, in the framework of a specific agreement between Politecnico di Torino and the home university.
A standard procedure shall be followed to establish a co-tutelle thesis agreement with a foreign university. It is also required for students to spend no less than 12 months at Politecnico di Torino.
After their arrival, students shall proceed with enrolment; it will be necessary to cover expenses for regional taxes on tuition fees, insurance, SIAE contributions and duty stamps, even if exempted from fees payment.
In order to be admitted to the final examination
, students are required to obtain a positive evaluation of their thesis from Academic Board.
The thesis shall be written in English and its defense shall be done in the presence of a Board comprising members from both universities concerned. The defense shall take place at the home university, which shall cover expenses related to transfer of Board members coming from Politecnico.
After the successful passing of final examination, it will be necessary to upload a copy of the thesis in university repository system through the following procedure
. The thesis will be accessible on open university archive IRIS
By the end of the concerned PhD cycle, the home university shall submit official documents concerning completion of PhD programme and final examination.
Once the compliance with all requirements established in the co-tutelle agreement will be verified, Politecnico di Torino shall issue the title of Doctor in Philosophy.
