Call for applications
The third selection process for further admissions to the 35th Cycle, as provided for art. 4 paragraph 3 of the call for applications available at this page, is closed now. 


The call for application provides information related to PhD programmes, positions and scholarships available for the upcoming PhD cycle, and modalities for taking part to the selection and mandatory deadlines.

The call for admission is divided into two separate sessions: the spring session and the summer session.
third selection process is scheduled for September 2019. Applicants who accepted an offer of admission for a position in the Spring session or in the Summer session cannot take part in the third selection process.
The application must be submitted by 12.00 p.m. (midday - CET) on:
  • February 14, 2019 for the spring session
  • May 17, 2019 for the summer session
  • September 9, 2019 for the third selection process

Selected applicants may benefit from scholarships assigned on a merit basis and depending on the expertise in the concerned research field, according to the candidate's position in the final ranking list. Those who are offered a fully funded PhD position within the spring session of the call, may receive a pre-PhD scholarship with a maximum duration of six months.

PhD candidates without scholarships shall comply with the same obbligations applyied to PhD candidates with scholarship. They have to attend courses and carry out research activities, as provided by the Academic Board. 

Available positions are divided into: 
  • Ordinary positions 
    • Fully funded PhD position with own research topic; 
    • Fully funded PhD position with predefined research topic 
    • Positions for Ph.D. in apprenticeship;
    • Positions without scholarship.
Some positions are reserved to candidates selected by special Boards within the framework of specific international programmes in which Politecnico di Torino is involved.

Specific programmes of international mobility in which Politecnico di Torino is involved:
- Marie Curie - H2020-MSCA-ITN-2018 Project - PhD in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering.
